Graham is a senior fellow in RMI’s Global South Program, where he advises on the strategy, communications, marketing, and operationalizing of the Energy Transition Academy, positioning it as a key element of RMI’s approach to capacity development. This includes facilitating an integrated approach to capacity development between the ETA Team, RMI programs, and external partners.
Background
Graham is a principal at Propel Clean Energy Partners, which developed and implemented the Clean Power Hub, a highly innovative suite of integrated capacity development tools offering power sector professionals free guidance and expert advice to support their work on clean power. Graham came to RMI as a part of its acquisition of the Clean Power Hub and merger with the Energy Transition Academy.
Graham’s work draws on three decades of diverse experience in the technology sector, international development, public policy, and philanthropy, including leading the US Department of Energy office that coordinated international clean energy and climate change cooperation through the Clean Energy Ministerial. Graham also helped craft the Obama administration’s energy policy while on assignment to the Council on Environmental Quality and served on the Climate Negotiation Team while at the Department of State.
Graham transitioned to government service after more than a decade in the technology sector, supporting new semiconductor manufacturing technology development efforts for Intel Corporation. Much of his work there was focused on international cooperation, serving as an assignee to two international consortia and working directly with global suppliers on technology development, including strategic investments.
Graham’s experience in government and technology sectors is bookended by roles in international development and philanthropy. Early in his career, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer teacher in rural Kenya was appointed Deputy Director of The Lemelson Foundation, which is focused on invention and entrepreneurship for social good, after leaving DOE.
