Lauren Schmeisser

Lauren is a Data Scientist in RMI’s Climate Intelligence Program, working on the Oil and Gas Initiative. She works with climate and emissions data to help drive transparency and accountability in emissions reductions.

Background

Before joining RMI, Lauren was a postdoc at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the Global Monitoring Laboratory. Throughout her time as a researcher, her focus was on understanding the complexities of the physical climate system using a spectrum of tools and techniques, ranging from data analysis to fieldwork to models. She has expertise in extreme climate events (e.g., marine heat waves and droughts), data visualization, satellite data, and climate change communication.
