Ellie is a senior associate within RMI’s Carbon-Free Buildings Program, leveraging a background in environmental design, resilience, health and social equity, and climate technology to contribute to thought leadership and research promoting policies and best practices that reinforce the business case for sustainability in the built environment. Since joining RMI, Ellie has primarily focused on supporting RMI’s Finance the Future Initiative, where she works to increase the availability of capital for climate-aligned home energy and resilience improvements.

Background

Prior to joining RMI, Ellie worked under the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Center for Sustainability and Economic Performance, supporting projects and research that promote investments in energy-efficient, healthy, resilient, and sustainable buildings and communities across the globe. Ellie’s previous work at ULI included assisting with community engagement projects with city officials and global real estate firms and contributing to research publications on topics, including climate risk and real estate, wildfire resilience, and flood buyouts.

Ellie also has a background in climate tech, having worked at CREtech, an intelligence platform devoted to reimagining real estate through innovative technologies while educating the industry on new and evolving solutions to drive down carbon emissions globally. Additionally, in her early career, she developed a climate policy at the local level, including supporting the Clean Air Council’s leadership to draft a legislation for single-use plastic bag ban in Philadelphia.
